Tech Fascism and the Megaproject
A pillar of tech fascism is the development of megaprojects around the world: new tech and crypto cities, new monuments, vast computing projects, the build-out of an autonomous military.
The creation of the global tech fascist state is anchored in these projects.
Most among them is a creation of special zones around the world, the physical and virtual home of tech fascism, a global network providing a global sovereignty, wherein the tech fascist apparatus can operate. A global network of medical experimentation zones where biotech startups can develop and test on human subjects freely, where new nuclear power centers can fuel fields and fields of datacenters, where new weapons can be developed, where tech fascism can grow without accountability to any nation state, despite appropriating all their land and resources.
The Network State is built on these zones: Próspera in Honduras, Itana in Nigeria, Metropolis in the Freeport Area of Bataan, NEOM, the nascent Bitcoin City of El Salvador, the proposed free trade zone built over Gaza… Trump stating recently:
"You know how I feel about the Gaza Strip. I think it's an incredible piece of important real estate, and I think it's something that we would be involved in, but having a peace force like the United States there controlling and owning the Gaza Strip would be a good thing… If you take the Palestinians and move them around to different countries, and you have plenty of countries that will do that, and you really have a freedom zone, you call it a freedom zone.”
This global network of zones is the cradle of tech fascism. It delivers tech fascism strongholds throughout the world, in Latin America, in Africa, near ports for trade, near precious natural resources for exploitation, near impoverished people who will build their shit, who will be their test subjects, their new markets, entire nation-state economies yoked into cryptocurrency by the free trade zone on their throat, hubs for military and intelligence operations on the people … launchpads for their desired war with China…
A stranglehold on the world. Engulfing.
Cities and cities and cities. They dream of cities. The Network State’s bloodthirsty hordes post image after image, fascist vision boards, with tall gleaming skyscrapers, beautiful bodies of water, cosmopolitan living, factories, nuclear power plants.
In one of his many manifestos — he has printed so many manifestos that he impugns the meaning — Marc Andreessen speaks of the city in the 2020 issue manifesto, “It’s Time to Build”:
“We should have gleaming skyscrapers and spectacular living environments in all our best cities at levels way beyond what we have now; where are they?… Why aren’t we building Elon Musk’s ‘alien dreadnoughts’—giant, gleaming, state of the art factories producing every conceivable kind of product, at the highest possible quality and lowest possible cost—all throughout our country? You see it in transportation. Where are the supersonic aircraft? Where are the millions of delivery drones? Where are the high speed trains, the soaring monorails, the hyperloops, and yes, the flying cars?”
And whenever Marc Andreessen speaks of “our country”… what he is really talking about is the Network State, HIS nation-state. The ruthlessness and the ambition of Marc Andreessen is underreported.

I will write a manifesto someday. I will write only one.
People declare all the time, prematurely, the death of tech fascist megaprojects. How many times have I heard that the Network State Próspera in Honduras has failed and died? Nothing could be further from the truth. Tell that to the people of Honduras who are fighting the colonizers tooth and nail. Próspera executives and lawyers swarm the White House to bring the weight of US imperialism down to secure their colony. They do medical experiments freely. They are spawning new Network State projects. They have announced the growth of Próspera into Africa. The people of Roatán are meanwhile facing displacement, labor exploitation, worker death, and terrorized, as Próspera plans to bring 38,000 tech fascists to live there… they have schools, full time residents, a crypto economy… where is the failure? There never was one.

Why would this project fail? Venture capital and crypto money is flowing in. And they are sitting on over 100,000 prisoners already being pushed into slave labor… because that is what a mega project so often takes… slaves, migrant workers, like those used to construct Dubai and NEOM…

It is an equation they know well.
The rise of the Salvadoran prison state cannot be separated from the transition of the country into a crypto state, an AI state, the opening of the country into an infestation of global venture capital. The core transformation of tech fascism, its animus. Key to its megaprojects.
The creation of a Bitcoin City, which has already broken ground, and promises no regulation, no taxes, to the tech and crypto class. Another node of tech fascism…
One of the biggest hurdles I face in education about tech fascism is people’s cowlike, idiotic, childish insistence that all of this will just fall down around their heads. If you think like this, you are not a responsible adult capable of addressing a fascist threat.
Too often, people confuse an extended timeline, a missed timeline, a legal fight that emerges, with the failure of the project. This tells you that that person has no fucking clue how any kind of engineering or construction works, in computer engineering or in build works. These are simple the normal, iterative, building processes that attend every major project. Everything ships late. Even the building of a small app features running into bugs, missed timelines, slipped releases, changes in the roadmap. This is part of the game and familiar to anyone who has come even close to a startup or really, a project of any kind.
The megaproject is a key characteristic of tech fascism. Its construction activities should be taken seriously.
