Hondurasgate: Implications for Tech Fascism and the Network State

In just the last week, the Hondurasgate project, in collaboration with Canal RED, released a series of audio recordings featuring current Honduran president Nasry Asfura, his vice president María Antonieta Mejía, and former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández.

The recordings have been released in segments; per Hondurasgate:

"Audio recordings from WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram, published exclusively by Canal RED and Hondurasgate, reveal a corruption and political interference operation in Honduras, with the direct participation of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, who, through the pardoned former president Juan Orlando Hernández, are negotiating the expansion of Employment and Economic Development Zones, the construction of a new military base, and a law to incentivize investment in Artificial Intelligence.

Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu are preparing to extend their spheres of influence in Central America. Their entry point this time is Honduras, where former president Juan Orlando Hernández - sentenced to 45 years in prison for drug trafficking in a US court and later pardoned by Donald Trump - is busily weaving a web of corruption to eliminate any resistance.

The plot also involves the current president, Nasry Asfura, the president of the National Congress, Tomás Zambrano, the National Electoral Councilor, Cossette López-Osorio, and the vice president María Antonieta Mejía.

All of them appear in a series of WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram audio messages obtained exclusively by Canal RED and Hondurasgate, which expose an operation of political interference and rampant corruption, including Hernández's return to the presidency of Honduras with Trump's support and Israeli funding. The plan is simple: to cede development zones, a military base, and spaces for artificial intelligence to the United States-Israeli alliance.

The conversations took place between January and April 2026. In them, the shadows that loomed over the Honduran electoral process - and which were documented and warned about by Diario Red during the campaign - have ceased to be mere suspicions."

The recordings discuss a plot to secure control of Honduras and expand projects within it. They feature criminal plotting against leftist politicians in Columbia and Mexico. They identify Israel, and Milei's Argentina, as major actors in plans to secure right-wing rule across Latin America. And they confirm the imperial goal of maintaining US control, and fighting China out of the region. The recordings have seen significant pickup by the Latin American press and Latin American politicians, including Evo Morales, former president of Bolivia, former president of Honduras Manuel Zelaya, and candidates of the 2025 Honduran presidential election, Rixi Moncada and Salvador Nasralla.

There are many pertinent facts in the recordings, but I will focus on the Network State in this initial comment. The Network State site of Próspera features prominently in the leaked recordings.

Honduras is the most advanced site of the Network State, through the colony of Próspera, which is taking over large parts of the beautiful island of Roatán. Funded by Peter Thiel, Marc Andreessen, Joe Lonsdale and other venture capitalists, Próspera is also building a manufacturing and nearshoring hub on the Honduran mainland. The port location has received significantly less attention than the colony on Roatán, despite pointing clearly to the Network State as an industrial, port and geopolitical project.

Próspera was able to enter the country of Honduras through its right-wing party, the National Party, and it advanced specifically under the presidency of Juan Orlando Hernández. Hernández was captured by the United States Department of Justice in April 2022, alleging "from at least in or about 2004, up to and including in or about 2022, Hernández, the former two-term President of Honduras, participated in a corrupt and violent drug-trafficking conspiracy to facilitate the importation of hundreds of thousands of kilograms of cocaine into the United States. Hernández allegedly received millions of dollars to use his public office, law enforcement, and the military to support drug-trafficking organizations in Honduras, Mexico, and elsewhere."

The leftist government of Xiomara Castro, of Honduras' Libre Party, was inaugurated in 2022, and under her presidency, made huge movements to expel Próspera and the special economic zone framework from the country as a threat to the sovereignty of Honduras. During her presidency, the supreme court ruled the special economic zones ("ZEDEs") unconstitutional, a clear step to kick Próspera out.

Last year's Honduran presidential elections changed everything, as Trump -- in the late days of the campaign period -- backed the National Party candidate Nasry Asfura, threatened Honduras if he was not elected, and pardoned Juan Orlando Hernández, also of the National Party.

Nasry Asfura was sworn in as president of Honduras in January 2026.

A voice note from Asfura to Hernández on February 10th, 2026, translated to English:

"President, it's a pleasure to greet you. We already had a private session with investment circles, and they are very positive about the expansion of the ZEDE in Roatán and Comayagua. Regarding Palmerola, we're going to move another Palmerola project specifically to Roatán, where Próspera is located. A base, uh, we've already negotiated that. We're also going to hand over the interoceanic corridor to General Electric. And the idea is also to buy all the metals and other materials, specifically from Argentina and the United States, avoiding Canada and China- those were the warnings we received. The Chinese were making offers, but we're not going to give in. We're going to put a stop to that. And the Honduran CECOT prison is also coming, within Tegucigalpa."

Palmerola is the Honduras/US military base located about 50 miles from the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa.

Hondurasgate reports:

"The spoils awaiting Washington in exchange for its support are the transformation of Honduras into a strategic enclave. The agreements include the expansion of the Special Economic Development Zones (ZEDEs), the construction of a new military base - in addition to the Soto Cano Air Base (Palmerola), operated by the Southern Command since 1982 - and a law incentivizing US investment in artificial intelligence. The strategic objective is made explicit in the United States National Security Strategy: 'to deny non-hemispheric competitors the ability to position threatening forces or other capabilities.' In today's geopolitical language, this translates into a clear guideline: to block Chinese influence in Latin America. Furthermore, the construction of a Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) is planned for the Honduran capital, mirroring the repressive model used in El Salvador. The Salvadoran facility has been criticized for operating as a center for torture and human rights violations, according to reports from civil society organizations."

These revelations provide further evidence that the Network State is not merely an ideological project or a failed "fantasy" of tech billionaires -- rather, it is part of a broad geopolitical offensive against Latin America, predicated on establishing US, Israel and venture capital hegemony, to secure mineral extraction, military bases, right-wing governments, suppression of leftism and expansion of technological projects. Special economic zones, represented by the Network State, and data centers and AI projects are foundations of the technofascist project. New military bases are also a boon to venture capital as it builds out hundreds of weapons startups, takes control of the United States military, and places Network State locations in other militarily significant sites, such as near Travis Airforce Base in Solano County.

‍ ‍

All of this is situated in "cold war" with China and the fight for global domination. These recordings provide clear evidence of the claims made on vcinfodocs, which demonstrate through financial, infrastructure, and geopolitical analysis, that the goal of Network State projects is domination of the global south.

From Hondurasgate:

"The plot revealed in the audios has one ultimate goal: to guarantee Juan Orlando Hernández's return to the presidency of Honduras in the next elections. According to the leaked conversations, the former president is not only planning his physical return to the country once all legal proceedings against him are dismissed, but is already negotiating a prearranged succession with Nasry Asfura. Under this scheme, Asfura would be a transitional president, paving the way for Hernández to run again in the next election cycle. If this comes to fruition, Hernández would become the main political operative for Donald Trump and the Israeli lobby in the region, tasked with transforming Honduras into a strategic zone for US military, logistical, and economic operations, replicating the model of the Palmerola airbase and the Special Economic Development Zones (ZEDES), but with even more concentrated power. This would not only be a personal restoration of power, but also the conversion of Honduran territory into a key geopolitical enclave for US interests vis-à-vis China and other powers in Latin America."

There is much else in these recordings and in the analysis by the reporting team. This post is to encourage readers to dive deeper into this material and to continue to follow developments in the press and in politics related to the revelations. Latin America is the front of tech fascism. The implications of this story are enormous. The ties to Milei, the crown pet of tech fascist elite in Latin America, are particularly relevant.

Please look at Hondurasgate -- https://hondurasgate.ch/ -- and send it to interested parties. The reporting team has provided audio files as well as forensic analysis of the files. Other outlets and interested parties are conducting their own analysis as we speak, and news is spreading quickly across Latin America, and looks to soon be covered in the United States.
